How long had he been gone away from the school? How long exactly was it? Perhaps longer than he could imagine. His absence was without notice, and at that not even to the few friends he had. Would they even remember who he was? It wasn't exactly his fault that he had to leave for a bit. It sure may have seemed like it the way he left though. No words at all. Without a doubt, the red-haired teen wandered the school early in the morning, much before anyone would most likely be awake.
He could always catch up on sleep later, although sleeping wasn't something he was too good at all the time. The more he thought about it, he didn't get much sleep at all if any. It hardly effected him, although it might be in part due to the nature of his blood and heritage. A small yawn crossed over his mouth as he raised a hand to cover it for the moment. The morning rays from the sun looked beautiful and looked similar to the lucent beams of the night.
A comforting fact that both night and day shared something in common and weren't total opposites. A small sigh escaped his lips as he slowly slid down to the ground against one of the few courtyard trees that littered the relaxing area. Of course the shade it provided was also nice, along with the few shimmers of rays that pierced through its canopy. A nice sight in deed. Perhaps he could catch a small nap here...just a small one. With another yawn, Cino closed his emerald eyes and simply rested for a bit. Hopefully nobody would be angered at him for using the courtyard as his own personal dorm for a bit.

Nimah found the early morning at the school the best and most sensible time to get any thinking done. The quiet gave her mind sometime to reflect on what had been going on, and what would be occouring during the coming day. She could arrange her thoughts, and be well prepared what what the day might bring.
Though it appeared the day would bring surprises earlier today than usual which was odd. Usually the courtyard was deserted, especially this time of the morning. The few non-sleeping and early rising students the school had rarely came outside, especially on a morning brisk as this one, but to her surprise there was one, a head of red hair and a body, sprawled out on the grass of the courtyard.
Wrapping her arms around herself, protecting her from the morning chill, she was quickly rustling her wings to also increase the warmth of her body. Though dressed in jeans and a hooded shirt, it did little to protect from the chill. Approaching the stil body, Nimah quirked an eyebrow as her memory struggled to recall the appearance and name. Of course he could have been a new student.
"I might suggest a bed for that kind of thing," Nimah decided to speak, perhaps if he spoke too, a name might jump to her, "the grass mustn't be very dry."

A brief moment without a gentle breeze ushered in a disturbance that the somewhat light sleeper could immediately notice. Stirring from his small nap, Cino blinked his emerald eyes open for a moment as he could notice a shadow cast across the courtyard. He only assumed it was the tree he was leaned up against before shutting his eyes again for only a moment. It wasn't until a few moments later that it clicked in his head that a tree had branches for a shadow and clearly the shadow he had just seen was not a tree.
His emerald eyes shot open as he struggled up from his relaxed position. Had someone been watching him or spying on him the entire time? Maybe it was faculty. Slowly turning his head up from the shadow cast against the grassy ground, he noticed someone who he remembered immediately. Eyes widening, he raised one hand and pointed up at her. "You....I remember you!" Of course it was a teacher he remembered a few semesters back. "You're that angel yes?" Standing up now, he leaned up against the tree as his coat fluttered around in another gust of breeze. The colors fluttered between reds, blues, and violets as he continued to simply stare at Nimah's eyes.

Nimah seemed to have startled the student from what may have been a nap. Of course he could have just been resting. She had simply been curious and was concerned - it wasn't wise to fall asleep on dewy grass, and with the slight wind, you could still catch a chill. Still, Nimah did not appriciate being pointed at, as if she had grown a second head and simply narrowed her eyes, scrutenizing the red head as he stifled to his feet and back up to a tree.
Her gazer flickered to the changing colours of his coat for a moment and then back to him.
"I suppose the impressive wing span clued you in?" Nimah said, rather more sarcastic than she was used to. Being an Angel meant never being cruel to others, but there were ways around this by simply being sarcastic. She couldn't get punished for that. Her gaze continued to observe the teen carefully. He was acting oddly, which automatically put Nimah on alert. She didn't like it when people jumped. It always made her think the worst.
Perhaps this person wasn't a student; she was having trouble putting a name to his face, but he obvious recognised her, so it was more likely he was a student at the school. But perhaps not in one of her classes.
"Yes, I'm Nimah. A teacher here." Her tone was still guarded, but more gentle than before, "I'm afraid I don't recognise you; but I'm giving the benefit of the doubt to the hope you're a student who got lost on their way to their dorm?"

Cino slowly lowered his arm as he tried to regain his composure for a moment. A brief moment of silence enveloped him as he contemplated what to say. Apparently, she didn't recognize him. This could either be a good thing...or a bad thing. The somewhat blatant dislike for each other's kind was supposed to be inbred, however perhaps she just didn't realize it yet. Flicking a few bangs of hair away from his emerald eyes, Cino let out a small sigh as he rested his hands behind his red head of hair.
"Well, there was the obvious factor..." He commented eying her wings for a moment. He gritted his teeth for a moment wanting to say something, however he didn't exactly know what to say. Cino must have been gone from school a lot longer than he had imagined if the angel hadn't recognized him. "Hmm, well I was a student in a few of your classes...thats about all I can say about that." Of course he felt a somewhat incompetence factor hit a wrong chord with her last comment.
"I'm not lost..." Although it was a slight lie as he nearly whispered it through gritted teeth. He didn't want to admit it, but having come back just now didn't really ring any bells as to where his dorm was, let alone if anyone new had moved in or out.

So he was a student. or rather, had been, taking in how he referred to being in her classes in the past tense. Nimah eased somewhat, but not a huge amount. She was still keeping herself alert. If he had been a student, then why return? Of course students came an went, arrived and left, but some had left in the middle of a semester or school year and had not returned. this red headed boy had.
Nimah was puzzled.
A fine eyebrow quirked on her face as the boy commented how he was not lost. She must have touched a nerve as his tone was more whispered than before. Coming right through his teeth. Nimah's gaze became quizzical and she lightly rested her chin on her hand, observing the boy.
"Why did you leave?" She asked. The question was valid. Also, now he would have to re-register, she'd have to handle that as Zack was taking an indefinate leave of absence. "I need to know, you'll also have to come and get signed up to classes again if you intend to stay."
Nimah stretched her wings briefly and they rustled as the muscles quivered from their rested position. Once feather came loose and floated towards the ground until it was caught by an updrat and started wafting towards the boy. Oddly, it changed direction when the feather was close and followed the breeze around him. Nimah looked from the boy to the disappearing feather and back.
"Oh." She murmured, "well that explains everything." Clearing her throat she stood up straight, "I remember now. Mylar, correct? Mr. Cino Mylar?"

Cino simply smirked slightly at thinking as to how he returned to the school. He had to take a certain leave of absence, mostly for the sake of his own mind, but more or less for the rather high tensions that had laid heavy on the school. Him along with his fellow companion Silver were quite a troublesome duo that resided at the establishment. Perhaps it was the polite way for the school to let tensions die down. Although with his arrival back it seemed nobody even knew who he was. Well, looks like it worked.
Bringing himself back to reality, Cino blinked his eyes for a moment at the question. "Oh, lets just say it was school business." He muttered a bit as he shrugged his shoulders. His coat eventually calmed down and resided on a rather soft red color that shimmered across its surface. His eyes caught wind of well, a feather. Moments passed as he watched the object flutter in the wind before being nearly 'repelled' from his presence.
His eyes flickered up as she addressed him finally. "You would be one hundred percent correct." A small grin crossed his face which quickly faded as he felt a small spike of pain across his forehead. He winced for a moment, rubbing the bandanna that was placed over it and shrugged it off in a matter of moments. "If you wouldn't mind, point me in the direction of my dorm so I can get back to whatever it was I was doing here..." His voice trailed off for a moment as he contemplated what he was doing back. "But...it remains to be seen what exactly I'm back for..."

Nimah's already quirked eyebrow quirked higher to Cino's response of 'school business'. This wasn't anything she had heard about, so again her suspicion was high. Now she knew she was dealing with a half demond. She did try not to hold any ill will towards those at the school of demonic blood, half or otherwise - but it was difficult to put issues aside after so long and seeing so many battles.
Cino wasn't helping his case by trying to be secretive or funny. If anything it was making the temptation to summon an energy ball very appealing indeed.
"What kind of school business?" Nimah pried further. She wasn't about to let Cino go without a proper explanation. "I can show you to your dorm once you answer my questions. It would be wise to do so. The campus is large, and if you haven't been here for sometime - you may get lost without a guide." Nimah tried to put a helpful spin on her inquiries. She doubted it would fool the red head to know she was trying to get answers, but she couldn't come right out and say she was trying to do that.
Espionage had never been her strong point.

A cool breeze drifted through the courtyard while the only thought on Cino's mind was getting out and perhaps away before any tension grew. Of course this wasn't happening and the red haired boy found himself constrained by the instructor whether he wanted to be there or not. Sometimes he cursed himself for being somewhat polite, although he could easily walk off. An eyebrow perked at her question. She was being a bit more curious than usual, no doubt wondering where he had been or what he had been up to.
Did she really need to know? No, not really, maybe he should lie to her. Cino contemplated it for a moment before mentally shaking his head. Naw, he wasn't that good at lying all the time, especially to someone who was well...an Angel. Their kind even though he was only half blood didn't mix very well to begin with. Heh....mix. A thought of battle came to his mind before he gently let the curious thought float away. "Hmmm. I suppose I could...indulge your graces." He rolled his eyes ever so slightly.
"Well I mainly left on my own free will, mostly because of prior events that I'm sure you're aware of, or perhaps I'd need to refresh your memory of the day in the gym." Cino went silent there hoping she would remember herself and he could be on his merry way.

Nimah waited. she would keep waitring if Cino insisted on trying to avoid answering her questions. She could wait. She could wait a very long time. As long as she wanted. She wasn't going to age. Cino would. And she wasn't going to budge either. She strongly doubted, however, that they would remain in locked horns for long.
Her thoughts were correct as Cino mentioned the gym fight which occoured. That memory was something Nimah didn't enjoy recalling. Two other students had left because of it and the aftermath. Unfortunately, the demi-Demon who had been at the centre of it all still remained.
"I see." Nimah said slowly, "well, thank you for gracing us with your presence once more." Her rustles her wings again, feeling somewhat disgruntled by the readmission of another demon-type. Nimah tried to keep her issue to herself, but having demons around worried her. Worried her hugely. But it couldn't be helped.
And Cino was a half-demon. He might not be so bad.
"Well, would you like to go to your dorm?" Nimah asked, sighing quietly. "Follow me."

Cino glanced over through strands of red hair to check the teacher's reaction, of course he wasn't looking for anything special, but perhaps just to look was enough for him to judge how she felt towards him. To be honest he didn't hold any grudges against her, although the angel did intervene a bit too much. Of course...they loved peace...and he on the other hand, didn't always think peaceful negotiation was the answer to all the world's problems. Putting someone in their place was just better if they were too arrogant or stubborn.
Enough said with that, Cino blinked for a moment as he heard the ruffle of feathers. "I'd appreciate it." He muttered as he shoved his hands into the pockets of his coat. Hopefully he'd run into someone other than a prior teacher, and Nimah at that. Rolling his eyes again, he fell in line behind her as she guided him towards his dorm room. Perhaps she'd change his dorm assignment...nah. He hoped not.

As Cino fell in line behind her, Nimah automatically slowed her step to walk at his side. She mistrusted demons at the best of times, she may have seemed innocent, but she'd seen enough wars between the two sides to know they weren't to be trusted and their words weren't to be honored. It was also just common sense to never turn your back on them. Cino may have been half-human, but the humans sides rarely showed themselves. She found.
The silence drew on and it made Nimah uncomfortable. This whole situation made her uncomfortable and put her on edge. The silence could not remain. She felt like she had to speak, make noise or she would explode. The light breeze that rustled the leaves in the passing trees, and the noise of the courtyard fountain wasn't enough.
"You'll find the school quite the same. As I said, the Headmaster has left for an indefinate period and we're currently organising a replacement. Because of the upheaval classes are current in a hiatus state until normality returns." Nimah paused as they turned a corner. She found herself hoping there would be more people.
There weren't.
She continued, "your... friend is still here in case you were curious. She's become rather docile it seems." Nimah stopped herself from adding "though I'm sure that will change, now you're back" and simply thought it to herself quietly. "You'll also have to re-enroll in your classes, but that can wait until your settled again."

"Gah. I hate it when it's cold in the morning. I don't even escape this crap when I'm out of Bummertown," mumbled a short young man who grasped his jacket close to him. The jacket itself was a thin, solid black zip up hoodie. His blue polo and his dark khaki pants didn't do much to shield him, either.
Bummertown was the affectionate name he had for his hometown of Bremerton, Washington. He had never cared much for the city itself, which is why he and his friends had named the old naval town such.
Alone, Jim Raynor walked on the courtyards of the huge campus that was a school for all ages. For all metahumans from all walks of life. He had even heard it housed angels and demons.
His mother, being a world-renowned expert of meta-human biology, had told him that when metahumans suddenly started to grow in numbers, the ancient creatures that had thought to be myth- angels, demons, vampires, faires and elves, came crawling out of the wood work. His mother had no real knowledge of these other creatures. Calling them metahumans seemed like an insult, to him and his mother. They were of different creatures altogether. At least, that's what the two thought.
He was eager to meet one of these other people. He would love to learn about them, their culture, their histories... he loved to learn. It's why his life's goal was to teach, because it was the job where you always learn.
The early morning walks he took were a time where he could reflect and be one with nature. After all, his powers were plant-like in essence. Also, his energy stores filled up faster during the early, early mornings, due to the fact that the sun was out and stars were still blazing, giving off light.
Jim walked and walked, not really having a destination in mind. At least until something caught his eyes.
People were outside.
And one of them had wings... could it be that it was the angel that taught here he had heard about? He was a newer student here, who had gotten here shortly after the headmaster's leave, so he couldn't be too sure.
His friendly personality automatically pulled him to where they were walking.
"Good morning!" Jim said, a bright smile on his face. He bowed his head slightly and raised his hand in a waving motion as he bowed, his typical greeting.

Cino appeared obstinate as Nimah's comments went without answers. Perhaps he was comfortable with silence - he didn't seem the talkative type. But Nimah wasn't. Silence, unless she was totally alone on in the company of someone she knew well, always made her nervous and edgy. Silence wasn't a good thing. It was a lull of false security which always gave way to a shock or disaster that could sent a heart racing.
Nimah didn't like shocks or surprises or silence that dragged on. Which was why the school was good for her, the noise was helpful and it did help her think. But this silence with Cino was a bad silence. Uncomfortable and tense. The way it should have been if a demon and angel were in close vicinity.
The new voice that cried out over the courtyard elated Nimah's spirits, even though her heart race increased automatically. Pale eyes scanned the area for the owner of the voice and settled on another boy, shorter, but smiling, waving and bowing. Nimah's heart calmed and she managed a small smile as she and the red-head half demon drew closer.
"Good morning, Mr..." Nimah paused, she had seen the boy around before though he had only been with the school a short while. While a replacement was found, Nimah was incharge of new admissions to the school and had studied each new student carefully. She searched her mind to find his name, "Mr. Raynor! What has you up so early?"

Cino kept his mouth shut while listening only partly to Nimah's comments. He wasn't quite concerned after hearing that not much had changed over the course of his absence let alone surprised that classes were canceled. Perhaps there was another troublemaker besides himself and the other he knew lurking in the school. Although it was unlikely, Cino might check into it. His attention was drawn back to Nimah at the comment that his friend was still attending the school.
A small sparkle in Cino's eyes lit up knowing who it was. He wondered if she would remember him at all, or anything that they had done together while the two had attended. He had to admit the chaos they caused was rather amusing, especially in the sparring portions of classes. Docile wasn't the word though he thought of to describe Silver however. Had she become a bit soft while he was gone? What had happened to her personality?
Maybe with a small reunion, she would go back to her old self if she truly had become a bit more 'stable' in terms of relations with other students. His emerald eyes flickered to the side to notice Nimah hailing down another student. Cino took very little attention as he wandered mindlessly over and simply kept one eye on the student. Perhaps he was fresh to the school as well, not that Cino didn't know someone around. He was sure after a week that he'd have his mental map back in his mind of the school class rooms and other various locations.
