Appearance:
Maisha is an average girl, standing at about 5'5. She has bright red hair and big brown eyes. She generally wears faded jeans and a black top with a yellow sunflower on it when she isn't wearing the school uniform. Maisha refuses to wear any other shoes besides her Converses (she calls them her 'Chuck Taylor's'). She doesn't like to wear makeup but does on occasions such as parties or dates. The only noticeable blemish she has is a mole on the palm of her left hand. She usually takes a pen and draws a smiley face around it. She likes to carry her leather backpack with her everywhere. The bag contains her sketchbook and lots of pens and pencils, a few personal belongings such as her journal, and her medication.Image:
Maisha has worn her hair in several different styles over the years: short, long, medium. After her last hair cut she finally decided to let her hair grow out and so far it reaches the small of her back. And she wears a pink bow.
Her favorite color is pink and a lot of her formal wear reflects that. A vast majority of her dresses are pink or some shade of pink, which matches her Converses, strangely enough. She does own a pair of dress shoes and if the date/occasion is special enough, she will wear them. Another thing about Maisha, she is very rarely seen without a bottle of her favorite soda, Sprite
Click!Personality:
Maisha is a happy go lucky girl, who loves making other people happy. She tends to put other people's needs before her own and is quite willing to go with out something if it means another person will be happy. However, a lot of people percieve her as a 'doormat'. She is far from it and will make anyone who tries to take advantage of her kindness suffer.Powers:
Maisha hates fighting, despite the fact thay she has a short temper. She does the best she can to avoid a fight, but if the person actually makes her angry enough, she will explode and go off on them. She usually apologizes after calming down and realizing what she had done. Maisha tries hard to control her temper and generally she's good with it, but from time to time she does slip up.
She loves to draw, which is why she carries the sketch pad everywhere. She sketches anything from buildings to random people to her best friends. She tends to keep the sketches private until they are done unless the person just really wants to see it.
Making friends comes natural to Maisha because of her warm personality and her general disposition. She has lots of friends back home and treats them all as if they were her family.
On a stranger note, Maisha has a mild form of OCD. She washes her hands several times a day. She loves organizing and stacking and restacking her things and other people's stuff too. However, things like sick people and stuff like that doesn't freak her out or anything. She just takes about an hour long shower after visiting with them.
Memory Illusion: Maisha posses the ability to take a person's memory and create the illusion that it is happening again. She can only use details given to her by the person, so it requires that she speak with the person for a long time before she can even use the memory. She cannot use this ability more than three times in a day. If she uses it more than her limit, she gets very very sick (vomiting, sometimes loss of consciousness.) The person has to describe in great detail about their memory. And that specific memory is really all Maisha needs to create the illusion. Maisha then focuses on the details, creating the illusion, which can only last for one minute. These illusions tend to be easier to conjure up simply because they are not solid and so they do not require as much focus or attention. Most of the time, she uses this power to recreate a happy memory for a person, such a sick child. The person cannot interact with the illusion nor can Maisha recreate the conversation as that would require to much energy and would shorten amount the times Maisha can use her powers.Skills:
Sketches: She can also create the illusion that her sketches have come to life. Much like Memory Illusion, she cannot use this ability more than three times in a day or she will get the same results. She can only use complete sketches because incomplete ones generally come out wrong and for some reason drains more of her energy than complete sketches. These illusions tend to be harder to create because they are solid and requires more focus and energy. After creating one, Maisha usually needs to take a nap, especially if the illusion lasts for the full minute. She uses this power more for her own personal amusement. She has a special pen (there really is nothing 'special' about it, it's just her favorite.) that she uses to ink her sketches and it makes them easier to concetrate on to create the Illusion.
Drawing. She draws all the time and has several notebooks full of half completed and completed sketches. Because her powers requires her to remeber great details, she has an excellent memory of her own. She not a bad history student, being able to recall dates and names at the drop of a hat.History:
Maisha's story starts on Halloween about 14 years ago. A nameless two year old was left at a local fire station in Florida. The child was then taken to a foster home where she spent the next couple of years of her life. While there, she was asked what her name was. "I don't know. I don't have a name." she would always answer. So one day, her foster mother decided to help her pick out a name. After a long time, the girl had finally settle on the name she thought was perfect, Maisha, meaning life. From then on, she was known as Maisha.Dorm Assignment: Girls 001
When Maisha was about 13 years old, she used her powers for the first time when she turned her completed sketch of her foster mother into an illusion. It only lasted for a couple of seconds, but she was so fascinated by this, that she tried again. This time using another one of her drawings. Once again it only lasted for a few seconds. She became excited about this and used her powers again two more times. After creating the last illusion, she collapsed and was rushed to the hospital. After being released a few days later, she tried using her powers again and discovered she was fine after only three uses of her power. The doctor prescribed her with some medicene that would help stop the vomiting if/when she had to use her powers more than three times.
About a year later, a few days after Maisha turned 14, she was adopted by an older childless couple who gave her a last name, Owens. She was very happy with them and became a volunteer at the hospital. She used her powers to cheer up the sick children and it seemed all of them adored her. However, her mother was struck with an illness and died nearly six months after Maisha came to live with them. Her father spent the next two years working with Maisha, trying hard to help her learn to control her power better. With his help, Maisha was able to make the illusions last for a minute.
One day, while at school, Maisha discovered a once in a lifetime opportunity. Due to a scholarship program, one student could study abroad. Because of her excellent grades and winning an essay contest (and her meta human status) Maisha was selected to attend Kosaka Academy. After reading about the school, she was very excited about the thought of finally being able to learn to control her powers. She was sad about leaving her father, but she promised to write to him everyday. She now comes to Kosaka Island with the hopes of being able to increase the number of times she can use her powers and if that can't happen, she would like to know how to increase the duration of the illusions. Either way, she's really excited.
