Appearance:
Lied is happy and carefree, and his dress style shows it. He favors a casual look, even while teaching, with his usual outfit consisting of stylish jeans and a t-shirt, along with an old well-loved suede jacket and biker gloves. A pair of pilot's goggles often hangs around his neck, and he typically wears a utility belt in addition to his regular one. His hair is blonde, constantly unkempt, and even a bit stringy, often hanging into his electric-lime-colored eyes.Image:
Link, yoPersonality:
As his physical appearance demonstrates, Lied has a happy-go-lucky attitude most of the time. He's rather hot-blooded as well, and although he's reasonable enough not to do anything stupid most of the time, he appreciates jokes and has occasional moments of irrationality, especially at heights of emotional stress. Lied tends to snap under pressure, and although he can usually "roll with the punches" well enough, if too much stress builds up, he'll need plenty of time alone to pull himself together and recuperate. He has a slight paranoia of being stalked, and greatly enjoys his privacy.Powers:
Lied has a hyperdeveloped brain, giving him an IQ of 250 and even a weak form of ESP limited to precognition and astral projection. The former happens only randomly and in a mild form in dreams, while the latter requires about a half-hour of preparation on Lied's part to relax his body and attain the necessary trance-like state.Skills:
As his powers would imply, Lied is extremely good at anything intellectually challenging. Sudoku, Rubik's cube, crossword puzzles... you name it, if it's an intellectually challenging puzzle, he'll solve it, and probably faster than you could. He has other hobbies as well, most notably outdoor activities such as hiking and sailing.History:
Lied was born while his parents, both French citizens, were vacationing in Florida. Shortly afterward, they were killed in a freak motorboating accident, and Lied was sent to live with his family's closest living relatives in North Carolina. He quickly showed himself to be an intellectual prodigy, gaining a full scholarship to MIT at age thirteen and graduating at the top of his class four years later.Keyword: LD 6/1
Fast forward five years: By age 22, Lied had moved to Vietnam and set up a top-secret research facility in the jungle. It was in this lab that he developed the first adaptive medicine capable of curing the common cold. After thinking his achievement over for several days, though, he came to the conclusion that mankind wasn't ready for his discovery yet, and in order to prevent his research from falling into the wrong hands, he burned his lab to the ground. It went unrecorded, however, that he saved a small sample of his vaccine, enough to be duplicated or reverse-engineered if necessary, just in case.
After a few more years of paranoia and constantly moving in order to keep his imagined enemies off his trail, Lied discovered Kosaka academy and applied for a teaching job there, which he was granted, along with a small private lab to accomodate his continued research.
