Name: Originally Agua IV, now Rune Caulder
Age: Around 400-ish; his usual disguised form appears in its 20s.
Subject: History
Birthdate: February 10th, although it's more of a "construction date."
Race: Artifical construct
Sex: Technically none, generally accepted as male.
Orientation: Asexual
Country: Italy
Appearance: In his natural form, Agua IV appears as a humanoid shape made of metal dulled by age, essentially a walking suit of armor. Tiny pinpoints of light stare out from his helmet, and he is clad in a magically preserved russet-brown cloak, baggy pants, and boots, all from his creation.
When disguised as a human, Agua IV goes by the name Rune, and appears as an athletic man somewhere in his twenties. He has a thick blonde hair that refuses to lie flat, fair skin, and serene blue eyes (although to be fair, he generally looks a bit happier than the picture would have one believe). His dark cloak shifts to a weathered, white mantle with two stylized crosses on the front, and his clothing generally consists of nice jeans or slacks and a button-down shirt. Oddly, in human form, he always wears exquisite leather dueling gloves with brass studs.

Usual appearance
Personality: Generally upbeat enough, but with just a touch of melancholy and weariness. Very inquisitive concerning topics he is unfamiliar with, especially science. Rune takes a special interest in ancient "sciences" now considered superstitions at best, such as alchemy, astrology, demonology, and hermeticism. He is very stoic in the face of change, and seems wise beyond his (apparent) years. Although he has observed a great deal of humanity in general, he knows very little about about humans on an individual basis.
Powers: Agua IV was constructed with a rapier built into his left arm and a main-gauche into his right. He can slide the blades out of his arms at a moment's notice, and wields them with great skill.
In addition, his job as an assassin necessitated the inclusion of magic to hide himself and boost his capabilities. His senses are superhuman, as are his physical capabilities. He can also produce the following magic effects at will: he can alter his appearance (the only catch being that his altered form must be humanoid and close to his normal height), fall slowly, temporarily boost his agility and speed, or cause his body to blur and make him harder to strike.
Skills: Rune is a peerless swordsman--after all, he's been perfecting the art for 400 years. His very nature makes him incredibly agile and strong, and his training as an assassin has made him an expert in anatomy, poisons, and stealth. The water elemental that is bound to his body, as well as his mechanical nature, produces a few anomalies regarding elemental effects: cold effects such as ice increase his physical and mental speed, while fire- or heat-related effects do the opposite, and electrical effects restore his energy. His inorganic nature also makes him immune to mind reading and control, instant death, and so forth, but it also means that he is unaffected by healing powers. Finally, the fact that his existence depends on a bound water elemental tends to put those with an affinity for water at odds with him.
History: Created with the name Agua IV during the late Renaissance by summoning and binding the spirit of a water elemental to a clockwork suit of armor, Rune was trained as an assassin by his creator, an ambitious arcanist who wanted to gain control of the government. Although the man fortunately never achieved his goal, Rune worked tirelessly for nearly 100 years in the service of him and his descendants. Eventually, however, he began to think for himself and develop a personality and regrets. At this point, he left the service of his master's family and began to wander the world.
As he traveled, Rune began gradually integrating himself into human culture. He had trouble at first, due to his understanding of humans merely as squishy people that he had to be careful around. But over time, he learned how to blend in and familiarized himself with many details of human nature, as well as its quirks. He was forced to constantly keep on the move, though--otherwise his ageless nature would make him a target of suspicion.
Eventually, Rune found his way to Kosaka academy and, feeling welcome there, he applied for a teaching job. Due to having witnessed so many great events and lived through so much, he was given the job of teaching history. It also took some of the load off of Headmaster Truesdale's shoulders, as he had had problems getting enough sleep.
