Felix Felicis:
The train-crash on the news hadn't caused an instant reaction from me because of Abi's ministrations, but as she slowed her efforts down the news about a large loss of life saddened me a little. As Abi apologized for her fingers cramping up, I nuzzled against her knee and thanked her;
<That's ok, Abi; Enjoyable as it is, there is always some sort of limit. In a way, it's a good thing I suppose: Too much petting in one go makes me lethargic, which is not really a bad thing considering how much I enjoy it, but it's like playing a video-game or watching TV - Not very productive. Thanks for petting me this much though, I really enjoyed it.> As if to re-affirm my grattitude, I continued purring.
My sensitive ears had picked up Silver's self-comment that 'it' could have been worse, though I wasn't sure if she meant the train-crash or something else she'd seen on the news before that. If it was to do with the crash, it didn't make a great deal of sense - How could it have been much worse? An empath might pick up on my confusion...

Silver stared at Abigail as she answered, overly happy about the fact that people snapped at her alot. She quirked an eyebrow and shrugged some shoulder. When she was younger she used to set fire to or electrocute people when they even looked at her wrong. But then, they were demons - usually, and deserved it because they were dangerous and hunting her. And it was self denfence... at least what she remembered with had been self defense. It had been a long while since she'd been a child.
"Its not that you're annoying," Silver murmured finally, "I just don't relate to ... humans very well." She paused for a moment, considering why she was explaining herself to a child and her cat. She never explained herself - she was an all powerful being for Heaven's sake. She hadn't ever explained herself to anyone or anything about anything.
It must have been the human mentality all around her, rubbing off on her. It had to be. That was a perfectly rational explanation.

Abigail smiled and hugged Felix a little, smiling at the Meta-Cat. She looked quite happy today, though she usually did. She came off as overly happy most of the time, though that was her choice. She had once heard a quote that said, 'You have a choice. You can either choose to be sad, or choose to be happy.'
Not that she told Silver this, though looked over at her. She smiled a little more and responded, "I don't relate to humans either...though that's because Auntie and I grew up in a forest...so we were each other's company. Well...there's Wolf...but he's not human. I'm rambling aren't I?"
She didn't seemed ratled by the fact the girl just admitted not being human, but for Abigail...well, she either didn't notice, or decided to ignore it. In all likely hood, she had just ignored this, and settled a little, offering Felix a spot on her lap.

Felix Felicis:
When Abi kindly offered me a seat on her lap, I complied happily; Padding from the sofa cushioning up onto warmer, firmer, human cushioning covered in whatever fabric her clothing was made from. Once stood on her lap, I turned around to find a comfortable position I could still face Silver from, then crouched flat to rest on my belly, with a paw in each corner just to keep my balance.
Through the pads on my paws and the contact of my sensitive belly area to Abi's lap, I could just barely pick up a rhythmic pulse of blood coursing through her legs beneath me. I found this strangely soothing, in a 'comforting' sort of way.
I found myself wondering what sort of powers Silver might have, but didn't feel comfortable just asking bluntly about them... I'd just have to wait until she volunteered the information in my presence, or until someone else asked her.

Silver pretended not to listen to Abigail as she explained living away from humans and relating better to animals. In turht she found herself interested, and not very sure why. After all, she couldn't learn anything from a child, but still - she supposed with was something to do with finding someone else who didn't relate to humans very well.
All the students she'd seen and met so fr all seemed to gel together without difficulty. Even the rebel students had friends, little posses of like minded students of the same mentality - it seemed easy for them all the get along and find their little cliques. Silver wasn't exactly fussed about not having friends, after all, she hadn't come here to make friends and she'd survived a good few centuries without them: it was just interesting to see how even the mis-fits seemed to fit in.
"You're not that bad." Silver murmured slowly, "humans get accustomed to each other, to their idiosincracies and mannerisms. That's how you creatures befriend each other, you find other like minded people and create... a nest I guess. It suits you." She turned her head to face Abigail arching an eyebrow, "so don't worry, you'll find somewhere to fit in. Might just take a while - the cat seems to like you." She indicated to the feline set on Abigail's lap.

Abigail was very content to sit there and pet Felix, scratching behind his ears, being very careful and quiet. She was sure that she could enjoy this, though as Silver began to speak, she slowly looked up to look at her before smiling.
"As much as I enjoy Felix's company, he doesn't count, really. He counts as a friend, but not as a human, or anything humanoid, unless I am incorrect," she answered softly, smilng happily.
She looked at Silver again and added, "Besides, I doubt I could make many friends. Wolf doesn't like sharing," she added with a soft giggle.
It wasn't that she couldn't make friends, she just had a hard time. She shifted slightly, though kept one hand on Felix, to make sure he wasn't too upset by her slight movements. She looked up with a slight smile at Silver and then scratched Felix's side.

Felix Felicis:
I glanced up at Silver when she mentioned me, blinked slowly, and offered a purr. When Abi said I didn't count, I turned a quizzical glance up to her face and momentarily stopped purring, then she followed it up with a corrective statement that caused me to resume purring - I counted as her friend, which was nice. She wasn't sure about the 'human' bit though. I felt I should say something about that, but waited until she had finished speaking first.
<I'm thinking maybe I should be worried by this 'Wolf' character? The name makes him sound a little agressive to me... Oh, and according to my mum, I shall eventually be able to morph into a human form of my own. I haven't worked out how yet though.> I mused, slightly worried about 'Wolf'.
I let Abi shift her position without getting off her lap, figuring she'd soon settle in a more comfortable position. Regular cats may assume the person they're sitting on intends to get up, but I knew better.

Silver shifted in her seat while Abigail spoke, referring the the feline for the first time by its name. Felix? Silver felt herself smile a little, she liked the name Felix. Always had. It was a good name, Latin in origin. Meant happy... though why knowing that made her smile was a mystery to her. Still, she shifted as Abigail moved at the same time, finding herself become more interested in the child and what she had to say.
"Having a few friends is better than having none." Silver commented after a few moments of drawn out silence. "I have... a family member somewhat like that. Her name's Gwenda. She's... kind of a stand in mother. She doesn't like me getting close to anyone. She's been watching over me since I was a baby... she's probably around at the moment." Silver glanced up at the ceiling, checking for any carvings of demons or gargoyles that Gwenda could invoke herself into. She saw none and returned to gaze.
"So - is Felix your cat, or does he belong to the school?" she asked, surprising herself by how relaxed she was becoming in the girl's presence.

Abigail looked down slightly at Felix's comment and she answered, "Wolf is fine...he's my...dog. Don't worry, he's grown used to accepting all manner of creatures around me and should behave himself if he wants to stay."
She scratched behind his ears at that and looked up before smiling brightly at Silver. She suddenly felt that connection, since Auntie was her stand-in mother, as her own had stopped loving the child sitting in the chair. "Well...Auntie is my stand-in mother too! She used to make the furniture dance after...after she began to raise me. She also helped me put my artwork onto shirts and things like that. We were a rather anti-social pair. But...Auntie wants me to have human, because I'm tired of saying humanoid, friends. Ah...to each their own," she answered, still petting Felix.
At Silver's question, she kind-of grinned in that way that children do when they have a secret that they'll tell to the first available person when they can, though this part Abigail would let Felix answer for himself.
"Wolf is my only pet, really...and he only listens to me because he likes me," she explained, partially.
