The longer he stood there, the more Zack began to realize just how much he hated ties and anything associated with them. He tugged at it uncomfortably before glancing around the courtyard. This was the day he had been dreading, the school board's arrival. The big wigs and higher ups were coming to make sure he wasn't a total screw up. And considering the school's current condition, Zack was fairly confident he was going to pass with flying colors.
Or at least he hoped.
There had only been a few disturbances around campus. Nothing major nor beyond his staff's control. The majority of the students were even helpful when it came to cleaning the campus for the school boards arrival. He supposed they understood how important it was for this to go well. And for that, he was grateful. He wasn't sure what these stiffs were going to be like. He just hoped everything would end well.
He shivered a bit and stuffed his hands down into the pockets of his black slacks. The collared shirt he wore was short sleeved and did very little to protect him from the chilled morning air. And it was a chilling reminder that winter was well on it's way. He hated winter. Or anything associated with cold. Of course at the moment, he hated a lot of things.
Ugh, where were they? He was getting very tired of waiting. Several more minutes slipped by before Zack finally spotted the long, sleek limo pulling in front of Kosaka's main gates. This was it. Do or die. He took a deep breath and though he wasn't a smoker, Zack really wished Frick would turn up soon, so he could bum a cigarette off of him.
---
Will had rolled out of bed only about ten minutes ago and it showed. His hair was still mussed, his shirt buttoned haphazardly and the fly of his jeans was only half way up. He vaguely remembered Zack saying something about dressing formally for this. But eh, that wasn’t his thing. He fished around his pocket and found a bent cigarette. It would do until he got back to his room.
“Yo, Mr. Truesdale, got a light?” He asked slinking up to Zack and looking at him with a slight grin. Zack turned to look at Will and rolled his eyes before offering the older man his lighter.
“Please don’t steal it.” Zack said simply and Will chuckled.
“Don’t worry boss man, ain’t got no reason to take your precious lighter.” He stuck the cigarette between his lips and lit the end of it. “So any idea when these stiff necks are gonna get here?”
---
Tessa yawned delicately behind her hand before promptly sitting down on one of the cold stone steps. She was a morning person, but only after having her coffee. And considering how she overslept, there would be no coffee until after the meet and greet with the school board.
She stretched her legs out in front of her and leaned back on her elbows on the step behind her. This morning was going to be a long one, she could tell right away. The other faculty members that had arrived looked anxious or worried and Tessa couldn’t understand why. They were just coming to make sure the school wasn’t blown up or the students weren’t getting out of hand right?
Tessa looked at Zack and sighed. Poor guy. He looked more rattled than anyone here. She couldn’t understand how anyone like him could actually run the school. He just didn’t strike her as the responsible type. And yet, the campus was spotless and the students were all in one piece. So obviously he was doing something right.
Tessa just hoped the school board thought the same.

Frick hadn't slept much. In fact he'd not really slept at all. He had tried. He'd lay in bed for hours trying to sleep. Willing his eyelids to close and dreams to come upon him. But to no avail. It bothered him. He knew the school board were due their visit, but he hadn't given it much thought. That was more Zack's duristiction than his own. He just had to turn up, look smart and not make any wise cracks.
Apparently though, the visit had been weighing more on his mind than he had originally thought.
Still - despite no sleep he made an effort. Pulled on a smart pair of black slacks with a blood red button down shirt and made his way to the entrance where he and the others had been told to meet this morning. He wasn't surprised to see other members of staff already lining up. Zack, of course. Looking jittery as he struggled with his tie. The janitor... though Frick wasn't sure why he was here. He looked fairly chilled out in comparison to Zack. And then Tessa, the music teacher. She appeared bored and about as tired as he felt as she yawned behind her hand. Nimah was also there, standing quietly a few steps away from the others.
Frick struggled and shoved his hands in his pockets. "Mornin'." He greeted no one in particular, staring down the drive way. "When exactly are they due to arrive?"
---
Nimah had been waiting for a while outside in the chilly air. She didn't feel too cold though. Wrapped up in a large coat, ready for the onset of winter already. As more and more members of the factulty began to arrive, Nimah felt bad for not greeting them. She didn't mean to ignore them, or not say hello. She simply had nothing to say that wouldn't cause her hysteria to show.
She had never felt this nervous. In her long lifetime, she had never felt so much fear in herself and she had faced worse things than humans on a school board. But the way they were painted by the others, it made them sound like ogres, that they could do anything with a wave of their hand. Nimah was forced to keep reminding herself these people were human - at least she understood they were - that they had no powers apart from their monetary ones.
Their their sway over each other. If even one of them disliked what they saw, or one thing went wrong, ti could sway the rest and the school could be closed.
Nimah swallowed, leaning against one of the pillar that framed the steps up using it for support.

Honey approached the gathering group of faculty members silently and for once - with grace. She stopped not to far from Nimah and turned to stare at the gates, waiting for their arrival. She stood composed, her hands cupped together before her, her eyes void of emotion. The 24 year old Art professor had been auto-pilot the moment her blonde curls had left her pillow. The night before she had worried - and worried - endlessly about the School Boards arrival. It was the reason for her robotic-esque behaviour. Of course she couldn’t allow herself to be- herself, positive that she’d be fired if the any of the School Board members saw with their own eyes how completely incompetent she was. So in an attempt to appear like the perfect teacher she wasn‘t, she had switched off completely. _______ Raiden stared with half-lidded eyes, bored and annoyed, at the black limo that was now pulling up at the gates. He pushed himself up-right from the pillar he had been leaning on, though still kept his hands pocketed - it was cold after all, and shifted forward a little - attempting to look more alert and interested when in reality he didn’t give a rats ass about the ‘suits.’ “How long will they be?” Raiden questioned quietly as he slipped into place besides Zack. He hoped they wouldn’t be long - he really, really did not want to be here. He wasn’t even an actual teacher. The hell was he going to do if they questioned him on something important? He shrugged the thought from his mind, deciding he’d worry over that problem if it arose. He doubted it would but he had a feeling that the Board were going to be a pain in the ass.

The limo seemed to take forever to stop. Zack clenched his hands and discreetly accepted his lighter back when Will handed it back to him. “The stiff necks are here. Zip your jeans, Will,” he hissed in reply. His gray eyes glanced to the side and he rolled his eyes as Will wandered off. Zack highly doubted the janitor had even heard him. Who invited him anyway? Zack chanced a glance at Raiden as the limo stopped. “I dunno. A few hours. That’s how long it’ll take to take a full tour of the campus.” He exhaled slowly when each member of the board got out of the limo and made their way toward the school’s entrance where the faculty was congregated. “Good morning. Welcome to Kosaka Academy.” He grimaced slightly at how mechanical his voice sounded and how nervously he had stuck out his hand for each member to shake. Zack hated feeling like this. His nerves were so rattled and it bothered him. He was always calm and laid back. So being this nervous was foreign to him. His heart raced and he bit his lip. This last guy shook his hand a little too hard. And Zack discreetly studied him as he pulled back and rejoined his fellow staff members. He managed to keep a cool façade. Maybe those important looking people wouldn’t realize how nervous they were making him. “We would like to treat you to breakfast before the tour begins.” Zack said with a not so obvious forced smile. ---- Will put his cigarette out as he made his way toward a teacher who looked completely stiff. “You a robot or something?” He asked her, “I seen all kinds of lil cyborgs and robots and mechanical limbed folk around here.” He chuckled and adjusted his clothes to make himself look a little more presentable. Zack was looking back at him and he didn’t look amused. Gotta appease The Boss Man. The people filed out of the limo, one by one, and Will looked a little awed. He had never really seen people look so prim and proper before. He regained his casual demeanor and stood with a slouch as he glanced over at Honey. Zack was talking and it was boring to be quiet honest. “I’m Will by the way. I’m the janitor. Not really sure why I’m here. But The Boss Man said all faculty. Guess I count.” He grinned cheekily. “What’s your name?” ---- Tessa rose from her seat and walked over to Frick as the limo stopped. She exhaled and glanced at him when he said a greeting. “Hello. I’m Tessa.” She said softly. Her attention drifted between their guests and the headmaster. He seemed calm and she hoped he would manage to stay that way. “Looks like they’re already here.” She said and pointed to them as the made their way over to them. Breakfast sounded great. She was starving and it would definitely help wake her up.

"Robots? And I had believed myself to be the only mechanical being here," Rune said slyly as he approached the other staff members. This morning's illusory outfit was dressier than usual, in acknowledgment of the esteemed presence they would be playing host to. Instead of his usual ensemble, he was garbed in a pair of khakis and a rather antique-looking puffy-sleeved dress shirt and sweater vest. His boots remained, however, with the legs of his slacks pulled down over them, as did his white, weathered mantle.
"I beg your forgiveness, headmaster," he said, inclining his head to the new arrivals from the school board. "I had lost track of time, as I tend to do, while reviewing my course curriculum. I do hope you understand."

Honey frowned a little when her stomach began to churn anxiously. Darn it. Her façade was beginning to slip and the man who had approached didn’t help matters. Her blank expression slipped into one of surprise - which she was quick to blink away - when the tall man spoke. “N-no.” She answered simply before pressing her lips into a tight line. She had to regain composure. But Will was asking her another question - making it difficult for her to concentrate. Silently she wondered how he was so calm and relaxed. He didn’t seem at all bothered by the Boards arrival. She envied him. “Honey.” The blonde answered quietly, afraid of drawing attention to herself but not wanting to appear rude to Will. “Honey Lehane. I - teach Art.” She offered Will a timid smile and then returned her attention to the looming board. The male stood on the end closest to her was glaring and Honey paled drastically. Was he glaring at her? It looked like he was. Worrying her lower lip between her teeth, Honey turned her gaze down towards the concrete floor not wanting to acknowledge the evil glare she was on the receiving end of. ____________ A few hours. Raiden grumbled at the thought. ‘Great.’Pulling his hands from his pockets, The Hanyou folded his arms across his chest and watched as the Board approached. They didn’t seem at all intimidating so he couldn’t understand why Zack was a bag of nerves. But then - Raiden didn’t have any weight on his shoulders, not like Zack did. He was the Head of the School after all. It was a lot of responsibility. He had to impress the Board. As Zack went about greeting each of the board members, Raiden allowed his maroon eyes to trail over each of the new arrivals, taking in each of their stern expressions.

Frick realised his question had been rather stupid when he noticed the limo pulling up the drive. He still smiled at Tessa though. "Frick Harris." He greeted warmly and then instantly turned his attention back to the limo and the endless seeming line of bodies that exited the car. All dress somberly, like they were attending a funeral, Frick took a deep breath and wished he had forgotten about this.
He also kept an ear out for the janitor, Will, he seemed to remember his name was, who was talking to Honey. It wasn't anything against the other man. He was just a little protective of the nervous art professor. Protective and attached. He was simply making sure she was safe... not that she couldn't look after herself or something.
Frick sighed and rubbed his face. He wasn't thinking right. He didn't need to be thinking about Honey right now. He watched as Zack shook the hands of each of the board members. One managed a glance over the group of them and stopped on him, eying his horns. Frick grinned for a moment, rubbed a horn and crossed to Zack.
"Breakfast is a great idea. Lets move."
---
Nimah liked being by her pillar. No one was paying her attention. None of the school board members were eying her oddly. They were all very focused on Zack, understandably. He was the headmaster, he was the centre of attention right now. He had to be the shining example the rest of them had to follow.
She didn't like to imagine the weight on Zack's shoulders at that moment in time. He must have been wanting to scream. Still - he appeared to be handling the suited people very well and calmly. If he was nervous it didn't show hugely. When breakfast was mentioned, Nimah sighed softly and left her pillar coming to stand beside Tessa.
She felt breakfast would be a good place to begin.

The designated leader of the school board had stepped forward, nose up and an obvious air of superiority surrounding him. He looked at each faculty member distastefully before finally looking at Zack. The headmaster thought his heart had stopped. Literally stopped. And for a moment, he looked like he would faint. What he wouldn't give for a shot of something strong. Frick's voice shook him out of his funk and he turned to look at the warlock. Drifting in and out of being calm was starting to take a toll on him. "Yes. Breakfast. The cafeteria is this way." His voice was about as mechanical as his limbs and turned stiffly. Just relax. He told himself. They're just people.. He chuckled to himself at the thought and for a moment, he felt better. His smile faded soon after. He was making light of this serious situation. Those vultures had to think he was behaving like a child. Zack kept pace with Frick. It was helpful to stay close to a familiar face. And while Will was one of the first people he met when he arrived at Kosaka, Zack easily reasoned that he was not the most helpful in this situation. "Frick," he hissed, "I think I'm gonna have a heart attack. Promise to make sure I don't fall on my face?" He glanced behind him to see if the school board was following and they were, they're eyes roving about the campus and whispering amongst themselves. Zack wondered what they were talking about. It certainly wasn't helping to ease his sprinting heart. --- Will whistled low when the group when on their way to the cafeteria. Serving them breakfast? Did that mean he would get to eat with them and not with the rest of the cleaning staff? Not that he minded. The cleaning staff was an awesome group of people. They all knew how to have fun. And Will really couldn't ask for a better bunch of colleagues. Will didn't feel all that comfortable eating with these people. They weren't his type and he didn't necessarily like the way they were all looking down on them. He smiled at Honey and nodded. "Just imagine them all naked. They're not as scary if you're laughing at them." He said with a wide grin. Will wandered off then, and started walking next to the man who had mentioned being the only mechanical being. "So you a robot? That's awesome." He grinned like a child with a new toy. A jolt shot through his arm and shook his wrist. Will looked down when it stopped and his fingers finally relaxed from their rigid position. And he hoped that was all his powers were going to do to him. --- Tessa acknowledged Nimah with a warm smile, before turning back to watch Zack and the others. "He's certainly calmer than I would be," she, nodded her blonde head toward Zack. She was glad for it. Being a rattled bag of nerves certainly wouldn't make this situation any better. Their trek to the cafeteria began and she followed, making sure to stay close to familiar faces. She didn't want to be caught up with the board and then backed into a corner with questions she most likely didn't know the answer to. But then again, she thought that ignoring them all together probably didn't look good either. Maybe making an effort to at least introduce herself would be helpful. If only to show them that metas were not without manners. She decided she would do so in the cafeteria because at the moment, they certainly looked occupied with whispering amongst themselves about something that had caught their fancy around campus. ((OOC: Shall we move to the cafeteria?))

[[ Sounds fine to me. ]]
Rune turned his serene gaze toward the janitor, giving him a detached smile.
"Only in a manner of speaking. I do run on mechanical parts, animated by an elemental spirit." He shrugged as though this were an everyday occurrence. "So a magic robot of sorts, I suppose. This is not my usual appearance, at any rate." As a jolt of electricity ran through Will's arm, Rune stopped and watched. "And I would assume that you are an electrokineticist?"

Frick walked at pace with Zack. Someone needed to stick close to him, to hold him up if his body gave way under his apparent nerves. He felt some compassion towards his friend. He didn't have the easiest job in the world, convincing a school board of humans that having a school of meta-Humans wasn't going to cause world wide problems. Still as far as he knew most of the students understood the severity of the situation and were going to be on their best behaviour.
He found himself grinning a bit at Zack's comment about having a heart attack, and patted his back once. "You got it. I'll make sure you don't make an ass of yourself." He chuckled a bit, flicking his hair back, "just don't fall asleep in your cereal." He'd heard from some female students of Zack's almost snooze in his breakfast recently and had been looking for the perfect oppertunity to make fun of him. Now seemed like a good time, to ease the atmosphere somewhat.
---
Nimah only nodded in reply to Tessa's comment about Zack being calmer than she was. Nimah agreed. She wouldn't have been so composed. In fact she was jittery mess at the moment and she was just a teacher! As far as she was concerned, Zack needed a medal for how he was handling the tense situation.
As everyone else began moving, Nimah did the same, following the group and winding up next to a rather imposing gentleman a few inches taller than herself. She only glanced at him, but that was enough to make her more nervous. She buried her head and clasped her hands in front of her, walking silently staring at the floor to avoid further unease on her part.
((Cafeteria sounds good to me))
