Okay, both my characters are up to Zack's mercy about what to teach. Sharpe would really want to teach Latin and physics. Not so much with the math. Quite frankly, Ashiaro doesn't care what he teaches.
Hey Zack- How much knowledge do the authors have to have about the classes that their characters are teaching? Personally, I think I'd know enough to handle Sharpe's classes, but I'm not so sure about the material Ashiaro is teaching. If you could let me know, that would be very much appreciated.

Subject: Basic Latin
Instructor: Sharpe
Prerequisites: None, except for an understanding of English grammar and sentence structure. Other experience in languages is welcomed, though not required.
Brief Description: Students will cover basic sentence structure, vocabulary, verb conjugations and noun and adjetive declensions as they apply to classical Latin.
Materials: Oxford Latin Course Part I (Balme and Morwood), Latin/English dictionary.
Subject: Introductory Latin
Instructor: Sharpe
Prerequisites: Basic Latin or Instructor Approval
Brief Description: Topics in basic Latin will be built upon. More advanced sentence structure, grammar and vocabulary will be explored. Reading will inculde longer sections with a variety of verb conjugations (present, perfect, imperfect, future, etc.) and noun declensions will be expected.
Materials: Oxford Latin Course Part II (Balme and Morwood), Latin/English dictionary
Subject: Advanced Latin
Instructor: Sharpe
Prerequisites: Intermediate Latin or Instructor Approval
Brief Description: Studies in Intermediate Latin will be built upon. Half the class will be spent learning additional grammar and vocabulary and the second half of the class will be devoted to reading sections out of a reader containing classical authors such as Virgil, Caesar and Livy.
Materials:Oxford Latin Course III and Oxford Latin Reader (Balme and Morwood), Latin/English dictionary.

Prerequisites: Trigonometry. Chemistry and calulus 1 are preferred
Brief Description: Class will cover the Newtonian laws of physics, projectile motion, force diagrams, conservation of momentum and conservation of energy. Lab included.
Materials: Fundamentals of Physics, 7th Edition (Halliday and Resnick). Scientific calculator.
Subject: Physics 2
Instructor: Sharpe
Prerequisites: Physics 1 (or Instructor Approval), Trigonometry, Chemistry. Calculus 1 is suggested
Brief Description: Topics will build on what was covered in Physics 1, especially the conservation of energy. Main topics will include thermodynamics, electricity, magnetism and possibly special relativity, depending on how quickly the students work.
Materials: Fundamentals of Physics, 7th Edition (Halliday and Resnick). Scientific calculator.

Brief Description: Calculus 1 is the first semester of calculus. Students will learn about limits, derivatives and integrals.

Brief Description: An overview of British authors. Students will be reading and writing responses to various works, including Beowulf, Jane Austen, Shakespeare, Charles thingyens and many more.

Prerequisites: 1 year of writing at high school level, one year of high school English
Brief Description: Similar to British Lit, only American authors.

Subject: Creative Writing

Brief Description: Students will study both poetry and prose of famous authors in an attempt to write their own works. Works will be presented throughout the year.
Materials: Reading Like a Writer (Francine Prose), Poems, Poets, Poetry: An Introduction and Anthology, Second Edition (Helen Vendler), spiral-bound notebook and pen/pencil. Other books will be announced later.
Subject: Shakespeare

Prerequisites: British Literature
Brief Description: Students will be reading from a variety of Shakespeare plays, writing intense essays on them and choosing one play or brief scenes from several plays to perform in front of the entire school at the end of the year. This is an advanced class.
Materials: Complete Works of William Shakespeare
Subject: Films and Literature
Instructor: Ashiaro Numen
Prerequisites: basic reading and writing skills (essentially no prerequisites...
Brief Description: Students will be conducting a survey of various books and comparing the books to the film versions of different novels. Short papers will be written for each book/film comparison and one long paper will be due at the end of the term. Films will be seen in class; students will be responsible for reading the books outside of class.
Possible books/movies include (but are not limited to): The Lord of the Rings trilogy (JRR Tolkien), The Chronicles of Narnia (any, but Ashiaro is likely to stick to The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, as this is his favorite) by CS Lewis, The Princess Bride, any Shakespeare play. He will be open to student suggestions on the first few days of class.
This is an elective course and does not fulfill the English graduation requirement.
Materials: Access to each of the novels.

Subject: Dueling Club

Brief Description: This is an after-school affair where students will practice sparring and defending themselves physically both with and without their powers.
Probably co-taught with Misaki Devlin, the self-defence teacher*
Materials: comfortable clothing that you can move around in easily. Everything else will be provided.
